The Rockwall Texas Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall plant maintenance and coordination of activities with other departments in a manner which results in the production of quality product at a cost and schedule consistent with company policies, customer service and plant objectives. The primary duties of a Maintenance Manager include:
- Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Participates in plant staff, shift and safety meetings, and conducts regular departmental meetings and departmental training based on needs assessment.
- Participates in plant operational planning meetings.
- Develop new methods and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Maintains direct contact with the Engineering department on the latest improvements to plant machinery and systems to more effectively increase manufacturing performance and reduce operating costs.
- Investigates and diagnoses causes of breakdowns and develop programs and solutions to reduce/eliminate future occurrences.
- Determines and controls maintenance budget to ensure efficient use of funds and reduce/eliminate repetitive purchases by identifying and eliminating root causes.
- Responsible for the selection, training and development of shift personnel to attain department goals.
- Meets with vendors and plant visitors.
- May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas.
- 0-25% travel may be required.
Graham Packaging Company is looking for a machine operator based in RocKWALL, Tx. This position will require the ability to work night shift from 6:45pm - 7am, on a rotating 3-2-2 schedule.
The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), and makes necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is made in a safe, efficient and high quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include:
- Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned
- Operate a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment producing a container in a safe and high quality method.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.
- Perform and/or assists in mold, insert and color changes on the line.
- Perform basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap.
- Perform tasks and responsibilities of any Utility position during slow periods and/or as needed.
- Monitor HDPE/PET resin (if applicable), dryer, material handling and color systems for appropriate processing conditions.
- Make frequent on time quality checks on products being produced from established quality standards.
- Assist other Operators and maintenance personnel on mechanical repairs.
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance work.
- Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
- Complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
- Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff in accomplishing the lines’ objectives.
- Verify material usage per standards
- Perform minor troubleshooting and programming on the line. Notify leads and supervisors of any major problems or questions.
- Operate equipment to minimize the generation and maximize the consumption of regrind, purge and scrap within customer specifications where applicable.
- Properly identify regrind and chunk produced.
- Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shift. Assist other Operators as needed.
- Assist in the training of new Operators.

Production Supervisors are responsible for supervising hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacture of all blow molded containers. Duties include safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, training, performance management, plant productivity, labor utilization, warehousing, and control of raw materials. This is a night shift position with hours of 6:15pm-7am on a rotating 3-2-2 schedule. The primary duties of a Production Supervisor include:
- Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- The majority of the time will be responsible for exercising authority and independent judgment on the shift in the interest of the Company to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline or adjust complaints or effectively to recommend such action by following established policies, procedures, and practices.
- Responsible for the following shift functions; personnel training, development, safety, security, quality, inventory, good housekeeping, and general management of Company policies and procedures.
- Resolves all production and resulting quality problems that occur on their shift. Responsible for frequent checks of product quality.
- Accountable for providing shift documentation on decisions, shift issues, actions and status updates for the shift for the purpose of compliance and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
- Attends all production meetings and safety meetings and conducts all shift meetings as required.
- Responsible for reviewing and authorizing proper time records for all employees on the shift.
- Manages temporary staffing assignments for the shift to achieve plant production and labor objectives.
- Manages machine utilization to meet or exceed efficiency goals and recommends or directs necessary personnel, maintenance or engineering changes to help achieve those goals.
- Develops new methods and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiencies, maximize labor utilization, and reduce operating costs as part of CQI objectives.
- Assists Production, Operations or Plant Manager in reviewing shift operations and makes recommendations relative to changes in operations, staffing, equipment, and procedures.
- Assists performing all physical inventories in accordance with Company procedures.
- Maintain a supportive and productive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication with internal and external customers, including vendors, coworkers, subordinates, and other supervisors.
- Participates in job safety training and personally follows all plant rules and work procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment is developed and supported.
- Executes leader standard work as designed on a daily basis.

Graham Packaging Company is looking for an experienced Mainteance Technician II based in Rockwall, TX. This opening is for night shift (7pm - 7am), which rotates on a 3-2-2 rotation.
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for installation and repair of equipment in the plant. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment and building.
