Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Parts Clerk based in Cartersville, GA. This opening is for day shift M-F, which operates during the hours of 6:48 am - 3:00 pm. Parts Clerks are responsible for purchasing and receiving parts and supplies for total plant operations. They maintain and manage parts room inventory, MSDS controller, and cost savings on materials. Primary duties of a Parts Clerk include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Purchases maintenance repairs and operating supplies. - Develop and maintain supplier relationships. - Search for cost reductions by utilizing alternative low cost quality suppliers. - Receive FedEx/UPS shipments. - Facilitate parts room housekeeping. - Ensure proper receiving procedures are followed. - Maintain a close relationship with Production Manager to ensure proper inventory of packaging supplies. - Maintain an active file of all specialty items for production equipment. - Maintain an active file of all packaging supplies. - Maintain a current approved vendor list. - Work closely with Controller on various tasks including MSDS files. - Manage and issue all GOS materials and inventory levels in the GOS room. - Receive, update and put all receivables in inventory at specified locations. - Utilize computer literacy skills by maintaining excel spreadsheets and word files. - Made changes, additions, and modifications to PM programs and task lists. - Serves as a parts runner. - Responsible for purchase order and purchase order revisions utilizing the automated PO system. - Maintain inventory levels min/max amounts that have been established. - Maintain document room to standard. - Limited travel may be required

Graham Packaging Company is looking for an Injection Operator.  This opening could be an 8 hour off shift (2nd or 3rd) or a rotating 12 hour night shift 2-2-3.  The Production/Shift Leads are for production lines during one whole shift of operation. Responsible for knowing and enforcing policies, procedures, practices and programs. The primary duties of a Production/Shift Lead include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Assign shift personnel to production equipment, following shift work schedule and break schedules to ensure work is completed on time. - Train employees on a shift. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. - Oversee safety, security, good housekeeping and enforce company policies to eliminate accidents and control accident costs. - Resolve production and quality problems that occur on a shift.  Make frequent checks of product quality and GMP standards and give functional guidance to shift operations and quality personnel. - Complete written documentation as required. - Attend all production, safety, and shift meetings. - Assist Production Manager in reviewing shift operations and make recommendations relative to changes in organization, personnel, equipment and procedures. - Follow work orders and ensures proper product codes are used and built. - Accurately report production data. - Troubleshoot and make necessary adjustments to machinery and equipment. - Inspect materials prior to use. - 0-25% travel may be required.

Quality Technician Leads are responsible for attaining and maintaining standards of quality for bottles as defined by drawings, product specifications and Quality Assurance procedures. Assist in the training of new personnel and existing employees on the importance of quality and to show leadership. Responsible for set up, monitoring and administering the quality of finished product and packaging to meet the requirements of the quality system. Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Machine Operator based in Cartersville, GA.  This position is for a night shift position working from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am or 2nd shift 3p-11p or 3rd shift 11p-7a. The Operator is responsible for operating a given number of plastic blow molding machines (including in-line equipment), and makes necessary adjustments or minor repairs to ensure production of containers is made in a safe, efficient and high quality manner. The primary duties of an Operator include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned - Operate a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment producing a container in a safe and high quality method. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. - Perform and/or assists in mold, insert and color changes on the line. - Perform basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines to improve machine efficiency and reduce scrap. - Perform tasks and responsibilities of any Utility position during slow periods and/or as needed. - Monitor HDPE/PET resin (if applicable), dryer, material handling and color systems for appropriate processing conditions. - Make frequent on time quality checks on products being produced from established quality standards. - Assist other Operators and maintenance personnel on mechanical repairs. - Perform assigned preventative maintenance work. - Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards. - Complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner. - Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff in accomplishing the lines’ objectives. - Verify material usage per standards - Perform minor troubleshooting and programming on the line. The Plant Engineer is responsible for performing technical and project engineering duties to improve plant manufacturing performance, reduce costs, improve methods, and assist in machine maintenance and reliability. Focus includes building and grounds maintenance, environmental responsibility, and strong support of electrical control systems and PLC processes. The primary job rotations of a Plant Engineer may include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Prepares appropriation request for funding documents & manages those projects to completion - Reviews contractor bids; interviews and assigns personnel to specific phases and elements of the project.  Through project coordination meetings and other forms of communication, oversees and coordinates the technical aspects of the project - Prepares status reports and regularly monitors budgets, contractors and schedules.  Allocates project resources appropriately; approves expenditures; employee contractor contracts.  Keeps an accurate record and electronic data base of all elements of the projects - Presents procedures, rules and regulations to those involved in the project; maintains a safe, clean and productive environment through enforcing procedures.  Maintains project integrity and reputation through compliance with state and federal regulations - Originate and implement purchase order process, including vendor setup and SAP data entry and necessary reports - Assist with continuous improvement programs (i.e. cycle improvement, light-weighting, downtime reduction) - Uses A3 problem solving process to resolve issues at their source - Work with other BU Team Members to develop standards and best practices to accomplish improved bottle quality and increase operating window for manufacturing processes - Prepares appropriation request for funding documents & manages those projects to completion - Audits production equipment for variances to standards - Plant trainer for all high level activities surrounding the production equipment - Acts as the lead for all new products and processes executed at the plant - Support gathering collective knowledge to develop and maintain reaction plans - Interfacing with operators, team leaders, and supervisors for productivity support - Soliciting employee feedback and involvement to improve the equipment - Ensuring the necessary knowledge owner inputs are solicited for process involvement and problem solving activities including: technical resources, production resources, and quality department resources - Lead kaizen events, problem solving, and autonomous maintenance activities - Respond appropriately to help chain calls - Lead cross-functional (and cross-plant, when necessary) teams to implement process-related problem solving initiatives within the plant - Lead investigation of key complaints and drive to true root cause and sustainable corrective actions - Network with colleagues across business units and functions to leverage their expertise and experience in driving rapid problem resolution - Drive operational excellence implementation using the proper tools (lean, TPM, six sigma) at the plant level  - Provide analytical support to continuously identify gaps, project opportunities, and solutions - Identify opportunities to integrate continuous improvement into the day to day operations of the site - Share best practices with other plants and teams, and drive “read-across” benefits - Support goal of total employee involvement in continuous improvement activities through training and customer complaint resolution - Responsible for development and execution of Plant Computerized Preventive Maintenance Program - Responsible for development and implementation of Plant Predictive Maintenance Programs not limited to:  Vibration, Oil Analysis, Ultrasonic and Infa Red Inspection - Limited travel may be required.

The Continuous Improvement Manager will be skilled in assessing and diagnosing the root causes of problems that lead to defective products, production yield loss and reduced productive uptime. The Continuous Improvement Manager will work with plants to develop and manage A3 projects to systematically address the Pareto of improvement opportunities using Lean tools and the Graham Operational Excellence (OPEX) continuous improvement process. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be knowledgeable in the fundamentals of lean manufacturing including reduction of variability, waste elimination, and theory of constraints to drive continuous improvement. The position, regionally based, has CI responsibility for the Graham network of plants.  Each CI has a focus area such as Rapid Change-Over, DOE / FMEA & 8D Complex Problem Solving, Graham Operating System – CI Element, Yield & Materials Kaizen, and Intelligent Factory.
