Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Packaging Specialist based in Cartersville, GA. This opening is for NIGHT SHIFT, which operates during the hours of 7PM - 7AM. Packaging Specialists are responsible for general housekeeping of the production area, case making, inspecting, and packing of finished product in accordance with established procedures, specifications and other guidelines. The primary duties of a Packaging Specialist include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. - Visually inspect finished product for defects before packing to ensure quality. - Follow written packing instructions. - Notify supervisor or lead of potential problems with finished product and/or machinery. - Grind bottles as necessary, checking for contamination before grinding - Open and inspect bundles of corrugated material and check for proper printing and defects. - Stack case/dividers on carts and feed individual cases and dividers into case forming machine. - Use case making equipment in a safe manner. - Notify the appropriate coworker or assignee when supplies at the machine need to be replenished. - Communicate with incoming shift or line replacement on any problems with quality, machine, and packing configurations. - Assist with rework and heldware to ensure effective completion. - Assist in the training of regular and temporary workforce in stacking, packing quality, and case machines. - Keep work area and other facilities clean, orderly and safe. - Complete written documentation as required. - Limited travel may be required

Graham Packaging Company has a new job opening for Quality Assurance Technicians based in Cartersville, GA. This opening is for 2nd shift, which operates during the hours of 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Quality Technicians are responsible for attaining and maintaining standards of quality for bottles as defined by drawings, product specifications and Quality Assurance procedures. Assist in the training of new personnel on the importance of quality and leadership. Responsible for monitoring the quality of finished product and packaging at start up and qualifications, both before and after packing. The primary duties of a Quality Technician include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Communicate about quality with supervisors, managers, other shifts and departments verbally and through written documents according to plant practice. - Setup and maintain product files in the Infinity QS data collection system for input of variable/attribute data by QA, production and maintenance personnel. - Develop and analyze statistical data, control charts and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. - Create and implement inspection criteria and procedures. - Maintain Quality Inspection Procedures. - Complete written documentation and forms as required. - Coordinate and manage the held ware and rework processes. - Coordinate quality activity with other departments to achieve plant objectives in compliance with plant procedures. - Coordinate quality control training for employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products. - Play an active role on teams within organization. - Assist in customer complaints investigation and corrective action process. - Assure Operators and PMT Leads are following procedures to conduct tests and inspections. - Change over challenge test samples during product change overs. - Assist all plant personnel support of Infinity and quality reporting systems. - Conduct and participate on gage R&R studies. - Conduct process Audits and finished goods for every Machine and report any visual defect for correction and trace back Audits. - Complete product qualifications First Articles test as required after Mold/Color change, and assist with new product approvals (PQP’s) - Ability to analyze Statically Process Charts (SPC) and evaluate trends. - Retest bottles measurements from Production as needed (OOS or OOC) to verify quality conforms to standards. - Perform multiple inspection tests to ensure parts are produced to meet or exceed product specifications. - Identify and segregate (HFI) non conformity product according to established procedures. - Audit rejected materials/Customers returns and report findings. - Monitor Challenge test samples (Vision, ALPS, Metal detector) and QA Supplies and request replacements as needed. - Cover for Vacation as needed. - Maintain inventory of all caps and notify QA Manager when inventory is low. - Maintain work area and test samples in a clean and orderly fashion. - All other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

Focus includes building and grounds maintenance, strong support of electrical control systems and PLC processes. Includes responsibility for performing technical & project engineering duties to improve plant manufacturing performance, reduce costs, improve methods, reliability, and environmental responsibility. Coordination of activities with other departments in a manner which results in the production of a quality product.   Candidates working in the plastics packaging industry, including blow and injection molding are highly desired.

Production Supervisors are responsible for supervising hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacture of all blow molded containers. Duties include safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, training, performance management, plant productivity, labor utilization, warehousing, and control of raw materials.  This is a night shift position with hours of 6pm-7am, rotating shift 2-2-3. The primary duties of a Production Supervisor include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - The majority of the time will be responsible for exercising authority and independent judgment on the shift in the interest of the Company to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline or adjust complaints or effectively to recommend such action by following established policies, procedures, and practices. - Responsible for the following shift functions; personnel training, development, safety, security, quality, inventory, good housekeeping, and general management of Company policies and procedures. - Resolves all production and resulting quality problems that occur on their shift. Responsible for frequent checks of product quality. - Accountable for providing shift documentation on decisions, shift issues, actions and status updates for the shift for the purpose of compliance and continuous quality improvement (CQI). - Attends all production meetings and safety meetings and conducts all shift meetings as required. - Responsible for reviewing and authorizing proper time records for all employees on the shift. - Manages temporary staffing assignments for the shift to achieve plant production and labor objectives. - Manages machine utilization to meet or exceed efficiency goals and recommends or directs necessary personnel, maintenance or engineering changes to help achieve those goals. - Develops new methods and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiencies, maximize labor utilization, and reduce operating costs as part of CQI objectives. - Assists Production, Operations or Plant Manager in reviewing shift operations and makes recommendations relative to changes in operations, staffing, equipment, and procedures. - Assists performing all physical inventories in accordance with Company procedures. - Maintain a supportive and productive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication with internal and external customers, including vendors, coworkers, subordinates, and other supervisors. - Participates in job safety training and personally follows all plant rules and work procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment is developed and supported. - Executes leader standard work as designed on a daily basis. - 0-25% travel may be required.
