Graham Packaging Company is looking for a(n) Quality Inspector based in Casa Grande, AZ. This opening is for  Days 12 hour, which operates during the hours of 7:00pm through 7:30am on a 3,2,2,3 schedule. The Quality Inspector assures quality of bottles and the final package prior to shipment to the customer. Train new personnel on the importance of quality and on various plant quality systems and issues. The Quality Inspector works closely with the Supervisor and production employees to achieve a quality product. The primary duties of a Quality Inspector include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. - Compare product on each line with the production schedule. Informs Supervisor if items differ and takes appropriate action. - Visual checks of bottles and box glue patterns on a regular basis for final packaging audits. - Report all rejected defects to PMTs and Supervisor. Follow through until defect is corrected. - Follow established procedures for defective products and gives all information to the Supervisor when product is put on “Hold”. - Report completed rework of defective products data according to established procedures. - May assist in training as assigned. - Assist the Supervisor as required. - Perform specified checks in accordance to Plant’s inspection plan. - Verify correct operation of in-line inspection devices, i.e. - leak testers, vision systems, metal detectors and other appropriate automated inspection equipment. - Complete all reports and forms for product and process documentation. - Enter required data to plant’s Statistical Process Charts (SPC) database. - Complete written documentation as required. - Assist in break relieves and helps out in production area when needed. - Keep Quality Assurance inspection areas clean. - Communicate about quality with other shifts and departments verbally and through written documents according to established procedures. - Limited travel may be required.

Production Managers direct supervisors and assigned personnel within the Production Department. Coordinate production activity in a manner that results in the production of quality product in a safe and cost effective manner. Work with scheduling to ensure that an effective production plan is developed and executed consistent with plant procedures, customer service requirements, and plant objectives. The primary duties of a Production Manager include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Works with supervisors to oversee all Production department personnel/HR issues including: hiring, reviews, recognition, disciplinary, attendance, and grievances. - Responsible for the execution of a production schedule to satisfy customer service requirements with respect to time, cost, and quality. - Assigns and oversees all supervisory project work such as safety programs, housekeeping, regrind, CQI, etc. - Ensures cost effective inventory levels of production supplies are maintained to meet production requirements. - Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager on the preventative maintenance required for the operational equipment. - Maintains contact with the sales department so that customer requirements are effectively met and maximum utilization of plant facilities is obtained. - Manages temporary staffing levels for the operation to achieve plant objectives for labor efficiency. - Attends meetings as necessary. - Assists in taking all physical inventories in accordance with corporate procedures. - Conducts all trials and R & D for packaging conditions such as banding and stretch wrap. - Ensures that the necessary plant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are developed and that production employees have been trained to meets plant operations objectives. - May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas. - 0-25% travel may be required.

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for installation and repair of equipment in the plant. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment and building.

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Packaging Specialist based in Casa Grande, AZ.   Packaging Specialists are responsible for general housekeeping of the production area, case making, inspecting, and packing of finished product in accordance with established procedures, specifications and other guidelines. The primary duties of a Packaging Specialist include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. - Visually inspect finished product for defects before packing to ensure quality. - Follow written packing instructions. - Notify supervisor or lead of potential problems with finished product and/or machinery. - Grind bottles as necessary, checking for contamination before grinding - Open and inspect bundles of corrugated material and check for proper printing and defects. - Stack case/dividers on carts and feed individual cases and dividers into case forming machine. - Use case making equipment in a safe manner. - Notify the appropriate coworker or assignee when supplies at the machine need to be replenished. - Communicate with incoming shift or line replacement on any problems with quality, machine, and packing configurations. - Assist with rework and heldware to ensure effective completion. - Assist in the training of regular and temporary workforce in stacking, packing quality, and case machines. - Keep work area and other facilities clean, orderly and safe. - Complete written documentation as required. - Limited travel may be required

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Process Engineers have the overall responsibility for the manufacturing processes and their control. They establish medium range objectives for process improvements including cost savings and quality improvements.  These responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner which stresses safety, yields quality product, efficiently uses labor and materials and is consistent with company policies, customer service and plant objectives.  They work closely with the Quality, Production, and Maintenance departments. The primary duties of a Process Engineer include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Responsible for the training and development of the machine operating staff and the process education of the Shift Supervisors. - Performs major process troubleshooting when beyond the level of the operating staff. - Exercises direct control for the quality of the containers being produced and for the operating effectiveness of all lines. - Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager and Plant Engineer to develop a preventative maintenance plan that effectively uses both maintenance and molding resources to maintain the equipment as required for the production lines. - Responsible for the ordering and inventory of spare parts for the molding process. - Assure proper inventory levels of resin materials and work with the Production Manager and department to coordinate the usage of required resins, regrind and color concentrates.  - Coordinate and perform all resin and color samplings. - Accountable for the ordering, inventory and usage of resin, regrind and color concentrates.  Performs resin and color sampling. - Develops and evaluates process tooling and new mold start-ups, coordinating this activity with the Corporate Engineering Department. - Coordinate and plan proper resources for line changeovers. - Develops new methods and equipment improvements to existing line conditions. - Attends meetings as necessary for operations planning, safety, QA, etc. - Participate and/or facilitate “Continuous Quality Improvement” teams for plant improvement. - May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas. - 0-75% travel may be required. #LI-TA1

Summary Graham Packaging is seeking a dynamic and multidisciplinary Continuous Improvement Manager to optimize plant systems, production line and equipment performance, and product quality. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be skilled in assessing and diagnosing the root causes of problems that lead to defective products, production yield loss and reduced productive uptime. The Continuous Improvement Manager will work with plants to develop and manage A3 projects to systematically address the Pareto of improvement opportunities using Lean tools and the Graham Operational Excellence (OPEX) continuous improvement process. The Continuous Improvement Manager will be knowledgeable in the fundamentals of lean manufacturing including reduction of variability, waste elimination, and theory of constraints to drive continuous improvement. The position, regionally based, has CI responsibility for the Graham network of plants.  Each CI has a focus area such as Rapid Change-Over, DOE / FMEA & 8D Complex Problem Solving, Graham Operating System – CI Element, Yield & Materials Kaizen, and Intelligent Factory.
