Production Supervisors are responsible for supervising hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacture of all blow molded containers. Duties include safety, quality, customer service, housekeeping, training, performance management, plant productivity, labor utilization, warehousing, and control of raw materials.  This is a night shift position with hours of 11pm-7am, M-F  -- Some weekends on a rotational basis. The primary duties of a Production Supervisor include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - The majority of the time will be responsible for exercising authority and independent judgment on the shift in the interest of the Company to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline or adjust complaints or effectively to recommend such action by following established policies, procedures, and practices. - Responsible for the following shift functions; personnel training, development, safety, security, quality, inventory, good housekeeping, and general management of Company policies and procedures. - Resolves all production and resulting quality problems that occur on their shift. Responsible for frequent checks of product quality. - Accountable for providing shift documentation on decisions, shift issues, actions and status updates for the shift for the purpose of compliance and continuous quality improvement (CQI). - Attends all production meetings and safety meetings and conducts all shift meetings as required. - Responsible for reviewing and authorizing proper time records for all employees on the shift. - Manages temporary staffing assignments for the shift to achieve plant production and labor objectives. - Manages machine utilization to meet or exceed efficiency goals and recommends or directs necessary personnel, maintenance or engineering changes to help achieve those goals. - Develops new methods and procedures to optimize manufacturing efficiencies, maximize labor utilization, and reduce operating costs as part of CQI objectives. - Assists Production, Operations or Plant Manager in reviewing shift operations and makes recommendations relative to changes in operations, staffing, equipment, and procedures. - Assists performing all physical inventories in accordance with Company procedures. - Maintain a supportive and productive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication with internal and external customers, including vendors, coworkers, subordinates, and other supervisors. - Participates in job safety training and personally follows all plant rules and work procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment is developed and supported. - Executes leader standard work as designed on a daily basis. - 0-25% travel may be required.

Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Forklift Operator based in York, PA (Farmbrook plant).  This position will work a night shift schedule, 7pm to 7am.   Forklift Operators perform a combination of product handling and lift truck operating duties to stack, transport, and store work-in-process and finished goods. Supplies production lines with efficient flow of materials – knockdowns and dividers - and moves finished goods to warehouse. Complete line driver reports accurately and legible showing locations and quantities of raw materials used as well as quantities and locations where finished goods were stored. Assist production line employees by relieving them in breaks and lunchtime periods. The primary duties of a Forklift Operator include: - Follow all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Perform a safety lift truck inspection and battery check and report any equipment malfunctioning or damage to the Warehouse Manager or Shift Supervisor. Change lift truck batteries and add water when necessary; keep record of time batteries are changed. Fill out lift truck status report. - Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned. - Review daily production schedule with Shift Supervisor, brings materials to the production lines when needed to execute schedule and notify supervisor of any materials running low. Removes finished goods from production lines, back to assigned warehouse locations. - Provide accurate information of unloaded materials as well as materials used or produced to warehouse personnel. - Remove, store, and unitize production scrap bales and informs warehouse personnel when there is enough for a full load. Removes excess corrugated from mezzanine and empties baler as required. Takes full bales of cardboard scrap from baler to assigned location in the warehouse. - Maintain accurate records of materials being used and produced, and reports them in appropriate paperwork, back to warehouse personnel. - Remove finished goods and other materials in hold to assigned location. Stores finished goods stacked neatly and in proper height. Verifies that all finished goods removed from the production area must have a product code tag. - Participate in physical inventory taking. - Keep each production line supplied with the proper knock down cases, dividers, pallets and when each pallet is full take that pallet to the warehouse for loading on the trailer; and takes unused cases and dividers back to the warehouse to the proper location. - On limited production, may assist in stock-handler duties or load trailers as needed. - Bring up hot glue cases to the mezzanine, brings color concentrate to the lines, replaces cold glue tote, removes excess cases from production floor, brings slip sheets to production floor, loads storage racks with gaylords, set up rework, set up units of product on hold for Q.C., relieves stock handlers, loads and unloads corrugated trailers, identifies good corrugated from the bad and isolates it. - Follow established forklift procedures and complete required safety and maintenance checklists - Follow established procedures for damaged finished goods and raw materials and report them on line driver report. - Communicate with supervisor regarding shift totals and machine totals reports and with other lift truck operators regarding any changes or problems that arise, including damaged materials, damaged skids, or low inventories. - Complete written documentation as required. - Assist in relieving downstream teammates for breaks and lunches. - Use forklift to move pallets of finished product to stretch wrap machines to stretch wrap them and to staging area after wrapping, or to specify warehouse location. The primary duties of a Plant Manager include: - Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices. - Leads the plant safety initiatives through the participation and development of safety training programs, plant safety meetings, safety audits and by encouraging employee involvement through safety suggestion and recognition programs. - Leads the plant quality initiatives through the implementation of corrective actions from customer or internal complaints, coordinating new product qualifications, and participating in internal and external quality system audits and developing and implementing corrective action plans. - Responsible for the selection, training, growth and development of shift and staff personnel to attain organizational goals - Reviews operating statements for all departments and directs manufacturing operations so that all plant costs are within budgetary standards. - Develops and maintains sound relations with customers and works with them to identify systems improvements and possible supply chain cost reductions. - Ensures continuous improvement plans are developed and implemented to ensure short and long range goals are in process. - Oversees the production planning process to ensure customer requirements are satisfied. - Maintains contact with sales department and customer service to effectively meet and maximize utilization of plant facilities. - Act as the Plant’s Project Manager on new initiatives involving equipment and molds. - Participates in monthly, quarterly and year-end physical inventories in accordance with corporate guidelines. - Oversee the creation and implementation of plants strategic and tactical plans that provided the needed focus and drive to achieve the plant and overall company objectives. - Drive continuous improvement plans using Operation Excellence tools across cross functional departments. - Promote an open door and team building environment policy. - May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas. - 0-10% travel may be required.
