Responsibilities

Position Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Provides on-site technical services and quality support to external customers as they fill & cap rigid plastic bottles with a focus on problem identification and resolution.
  • Provide hands on technical consulting at customer locations for product qualifications, product performance issues, and routine evaluation of on-going performance
  • Participate in the development and review of production specifications and product performance requirements.  
  • Perform line surveys at customer filling sites.
  • Evaluate product performance on new product startups, trouble shoot customer complaints, provide investigative expertise.
  • Drive Quality Programs - Root cause analysis, process improvements with customers that may involve technical aspects of GPC product, fill lines, customer processes or other product.
  • Identify technical solutions to drive productivity enhancement and product excellence to drive value added services to the customer that drives GPC to be considered an integral partner to the customer

Qualifications

Core Proficiencies and Skills

  • Able to support at least 1-2 areas related to plastic container technologies.
  • Able to support containers made of PET or Polyolefin produced by various methods such as Extrusion/blow and Reheat/blow technologies. Well versed in at least one product type (cold fill, hot fill, retort) applications and having strong experience in at least one of these industries (food & beverage, automotive, chemical, household, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of most common fill-line filler/capper issues.  Expertise in bottle/filler interaction, and rudimentary experience in capping, labeling, inspecting systems

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Significant travel, up to 80%, is required, often on short notice.  The position will focus on a particular region of the US (West Coast) with occasional travel beyond the assigned region.
  • 3+ years experience in the troubleshooting and quality requirements of plastics manufacturing processes and output; able to work across types of bottle, customer and application. Able to self-manage schedule and priorities.  Comfortable leading direct communications with customers.
  • A technical degree is preferred.
  • Strong communications stills to be able to discuss technical performance of products with varied levels at customer (operators through senior management) as well as within Graham. Includes ability to participate actively in technical meetings, write detailed trip reports, and provide training on bottle interactions with the filling lines.
  • Operations Experience, Plastics Knowledge or experience, Strong Customer Relationship skills, Analytical Thinking, Design of Experiments, Six Sigma or lean and SPC capabilities, Drive for Results and Sense of Urgency

The standard compensation for this role is $80,900 - $121,030. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate
qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors.

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
