Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The PM Planner is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective planning of maintenance activities within the organization. The PM Planner plays a key role in minimizing unscheduled downtime and maximizing equipment reliability. This role requires collaboration with suppliers, maintenance, operations, engineering teams to create and manage a maintenance schedule that ensures the longevity and reliability of assets.
The primary duties of a PM Planner include:
Safety:
- Understand, follow and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Incorporate safety requirements in maintenance activities.
- Identify and address safety risks related to maintenance and other activities.
- Promote a culture of safety and preventive care within the organization.
Maintenance Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and maintain detailed and clear preventative maintenance task lists for equipment and systems.
- Define precise timelines for each task and monitors timely execution.
- Identify and prioritize tasks based on equipment criticality, usage, and historical data.
- Forecast required maintenance activities and allocate resources accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with equipment manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Leads Pre/Post PM’s and C/O meetings.
Record Keeping and Data Analysis:
- Analyze machine performance and maintenance data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory levels.
- Coordinates oil testing and vibration analysis and drives resolution to identified gaps.
- Partner with Parts Room clerk to ensure parts availability and budget attainment.
- Responsible for keeping the visual controls related with Maintenance Performance updated and posted in the assigned location.
Continuous Improvement:
- Continually update PMs and work instructions to reflect new learnings about improvements or machine failures.
- Owns BDA cart (Break Down Analysis), reviewing failed parts daily and ensuring a proper problem solve tool is used to identify root cause (s) and corrective/preventive actions. Working with suppliers to understand failure modes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance schedules and update plans based on performance outcomes.
- Identify and implement plans to safely reduce C/O and P/M’s times.
- Implement strategies to reduce reactive maintenance and increase planned maintenance.
