Graham Packaging, a leading innovator in plastic packaging is looking for a dynamic, solutions-oriented individual to join our team as a Jr. Plant Controller/Plant Accountant.  This individual will serve as the financial business partner to oversee accounting, financial reporting, analysis and preparation of the consolidated financial statements, including schedules for tax compliance.


  • Responsible for understanding the process, tracking, and analyzing of raw material usage and consumption.
  • Monitor, order, and manage raw materials, i.e. Resin, Additives, Regrind, Colorants.
  • Promptly process credits for customer returns and adjustments.
  • Work with Plant Controller to set and adjust material forecast.
  • Monitor scrap for accurate disposition.  Negotiate terms of salable scrap.
  • Track freight for inbound trucking.
  • Monthly Inventory control focused on eliminating physical count variances, reduction of slow moving/obsolete write offs; managing inventory on a FIFO basis; coordinating a successful annual tagged physical inventory.
  • Coordinate the annual fixed assets physical inventory audit.
  • Maintain the Material Data information in SAP.
  • Comply with Corporate monthly closing schedule.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Operations or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Previous 1-2+ years of manufacturing accounting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Software.
  • SAP experienced preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both interpersonal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize tasks/projects based on business needs.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently on a variety of assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to accurately meet deadlines and ask for help if needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and drive process improvements.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with management, vendors, and peers.
  • Very strong organizational skills and business process skills with attention to detail.
