Graham Packaging Company is looking for a Parts Clerk based in Hammond, LA. This opening is for 1st shift, which operates during the hours of 7am - 3pm with the potential for overtime.

Parts Clerks are responsible for purchasing and receiving parts and supplies for total plant operations. They maintain and manage parts room inventory, MSDS controller, and cost savings on materials. Primary duties of a Parts Clerk include:

• Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
• Maintain parts inventory by properly labeling and stocking materials
• Maintain accurate documentation for receipts, returns, shortages, and damaged items
• Resolve discrepancies with vendors, A/P, and maintenance.
• Establish and maintain organized parts storage locations with proper min/max/reorder-point, and reorder-quantity.
• Perform scheduled cycle counts based on established inventory-control procedures
• Investigate and reconcile inventory variances
• Monitor inventory consumption against maintenance requirements
• Support parts replenishment through SAP/Ariba
• Coordinate timely parts ordering and maintain critical spare parts levels
• Evaluate excess and slow-moving inventory to optimize stocking recommendations
• Prevent stockouts by ensuring proactive replenishment actions.
• Monitor purchasing activity, supplier confirmations and delivery status
• Identify overdue or delayed orders and ensure purchase order closure and invoice processing.
• Collaborate with Maintenance team to verify part(s) availability for planned maintenance activities.
• Identify alternate parts or manufacturers, as needed.
• Support the accuracy of bills of material (BOMs) for critical equipment.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
• Search for cost reductions by utilizing alternative low-cost quality suppliers.
• Receive FedEx/UPS shipments.
• Maintain a current approved vendor list.
• Work closely with Quality Systems Specialist on various tasks including MSDS files.
• Utilize computer literacy skills by maintaining excel spreadsheets and word files.
• Serves as a parts runner.
• Responsible for purchase order and purchase order revisions utilizing the automated PO system.
• Limited travel may be required.

A minimum of 2 years in manufacturing experience required. Previous Parts Clerk experience preferred.

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
