The Procurement Financial Analyst will report directly to the Global Sourcing Finance Manager and will primarily support the North American locations as it relates to the category spend for energy and direct materials, specifically:

• Act as the liaison between our 3^rd party energy consulting partner and the GPC leadership teams to ensure effective management, implementation, analysis, and communication of energy sourcing and savings initiatives.
• Provide the proper accounting and internal controls supporting the customer and procurement accounting processes for raw materials used in the direct production of bottles.
• Provide analytical support and financial analysis to ensure that the GPC Global Sourcing team delivers on financial commitments.
• Support further integration of a data driven approach in sourcing.
• Collaborate with senior level business unit professionals to provide insightful, data-driven analysis and support.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

This role is segmented into 3 main themes – Insight, Control, and Planning & Reporting. 

 

Insight

• Provide financial leadership for energy strategies, including working and collaborating with our 3^rd party consultant over contract management and execution in nonregulated markets, demand response programs, energy tariff optimization, sustainability initiatives, and value analysis.
• Manage supplier-facing issues related to energy cost, quality, and delivery.
• Communicate and partner directly with Business Unit and Plant Operations leaders in driving the strategy and thought leadership for energy spend and opportunities for cost savings.
• Collaborate with the customer pricing team to analyze the impact of energy cost changes on customer pricing.
• Support analysis around direct materials used for production, including impacts of savings initiatives and market fluctuation impacts.
• Partner with the global sourcing organization to provide financial and analytical support as needed.
• Identify process improvement opportunities within the global sourcing organization and support implementation efforts as needed.

 Control

• Assist with external/internal audit support, as necessary.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain highest level of integrity in reporting.

 Planning & Reporting

• Lead reporting and analysis around energy, including impacts of savings initiatives and market fluctuation impacts.
• Collaborate with 3^rd party energy consulting partner for the quarterly forecast and annual budget processes for energy cost and savings initiatives.
• Support the quarterly forecast and annual budget processes for direct material purchase cost and sales price variances.
• Prepare month-end closing journal entries and related balance sheet reconciliations for direct material-related customer true-ups in keeping with customer supply agreements.
• Prepare other direct material-related month-end closing journal entries as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, primarily BU Leadership and Plant Operations, Pricing, and FP&A, to provide support and guidance related to the impact of direct material purchase cost, energy cost management, and sales price fluctuations on profitability.
• Assist management with financial analysis or special projects.

Qualifications

• BS/BA Required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
• 5+ years Accounting/Finance or Purchasing Experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Applications.
• Experience with SAP, Business Information Warehouse, and HFM desirable.
• Excellent analytical, data-manipulation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to seek resources as needed.
• Strong ability to communicate concisely at all levels inside and outside the company.
• Ability to work both independently and in group settings to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
• Strategic thinker; uses creative and innovative problem-solving approach to achieve key success factors.
• Ability to travel as required; minimal travel expected.

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
