Overview

Graham Packaging Company is seeking a Forklift Operator for our Joplin, Missouri facility.

Schedule

  • Shift: B Shift
  • Hours: 6:45 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Rotation: 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule
    • 3 days on / 2 days off / 2 days on / 3 days off
    • Includes every other weekend off

Position Overview

Forklift Operators are responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials throughout the production and warehouse areas. This role supports production by ensuring a continuous flow of materials, transporting finished goods, and maintaining accurate inventory and documentation.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished goods
  • Supply production lines with knockdowns, dividers, pallets, and other required materials
  • Transport finished goods to designated warehouse locations and staging areas
  • Perform daily forklift inspections, battery maintenance, and report any issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of materials used, produced, and stored
  • Remove and manage scrap materials, including corrugated and production waste
  • Support quality standards by verifying product tags and inspecting finished pallets
  • Assist with inventory counts and warehouse organization
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs and issues
  • Follow all safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures
  • Support production teams by providing relief during breaks and lunches
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and additional duties as assigned

Additional Duties May Include

  • Loading and unloading trailers
  • Supporting rework and quality hold processes
  • Maintaining material supply levels across production lines
  • Assisting with general warehouse and production support tasks as needed

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year forklift experience preferred.

Forklift Operators are required to interact with other managers, employees, vendors, and customers. Therefore, the following skills and proficiencies are also essential requirements of the position:

  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.
  • Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives; volunteers to help others.

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
