Overview

The Communications & Marketing Intern will support the execution of digital content, internal communications, and marketing initiatives across Graham Packaging. This role provides hands-on experience in social media strategy, employee engagement, website content management, and sales support.

 

This intern will have a unique opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of creative designers, communications specialists, and marketing professionals, gaining exposure to how content is developed, designed, and delivered across multiple channels. The role is ideal for someone who can blend strong writing skills with visual storytelling to drive engagement with both employees and external audiences.

Responsibilities

Social Media Content & Scheduling
• Build and maintain a structured social media content calendar aligned with established strategy
• Draft, edit, and schedule content across platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
• Monitor and track performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve engagement


Internal Communications & Employee Engagement (MyGraham)
• Partner with communications and HR teams to enhance employee engagement across hourly, salaried, and leadership populations
• Draft and schedule content for the MyGraham platform to drive awareness and participation
• Support distribution of internal communications to ensure consistent and timely messaging


Website Content Management
• Upload and manage content within the company’s CMS (WordPress)
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards across web pages


External Marketing & Sales Support
• Assist in developing presentation materials for marketing and sales initiatives
• Support distribution and tracking of website-generated leads to the sales team
• Contribute to planning and coordination of trade shows and external events

Qualifications

Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging content
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Interest in digital marketing, social media, and employee engagement


Additional Qualifications
• Background or coursework in graphic design or visual communications
• Ability to translate ideas into both written and visual content that drives engagement
Preferred Experience / Software Skills
• Familiarity with social media platforms and analytics tools
• Exposure to content management systems (e.g., WordPress)
• Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
• Experience with Canva
• Exposure to Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a plus, but not required

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
